Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. earns PSL boys swimming championship

Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. earned its second straight Detroit Public School League boys swimming championship. With only nine swimmers competing, King offset Cass Tech's superior depth by winning six of the nine individual championships and two of the three relay events. King's Aubrey Collins won both the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. King's Malik Carvalho won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke. Cass Tech's Angel Cardiel won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. King's Gary Peterson was named PSL boys coach of the year.
