Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. earns PSL boys swimming championship
Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. edged two-time defending champion Detroit Cass Technical to earn the 2021 Detroit Public School League championship. With only seven swimmers competiting, King offset Cass Tech's superior depth by winning eight of the nine individual championships and two of the three relay events. King's Allen Lilliard was named swimmer of the meet, winning the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle, as well as being part of King's winning 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay teams. King's Gary Peterson was named PSL boys coach of the year.
