The Division 1 No. 8-ranked Phoenix dominated the Technicians to win their first Detroit Public School League girls basketball championship since 2011. Junior Kailee Davis led all scorers with 34 points, making seven three-pointers. Junior Mikyah Finley had 15. Sophomore Taylor Anderson scored 14. The Phoenix opened the first half with an 11-0 run and started the second half with a 7-0 run. The lead was 40-27 at halftime and the Phoenix led by as much as 32 in the third quarter. Junior Precious Fields led the Technicians with 21 points in the loss.

Junior Kylee Davis scored 19 to lead the Phoenix’ balanced attack with Taylor Anderson scoring 13, Mikayah Finley 11, Nika Dorsey 10 and Shannon Wheeler nine points. The Phoenix led 27-13 at halftime.
